Botox Treatments
Botox Treatments are one of the most popular and fastest growing non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the United States today. More than 11 million men and women have experienced Botox treatments.
What are Botox Treatments?
Botox is a purified protein that when injected, improves and softens the appearance of frown lines, laugh lines and crow’s feet. BOTOX® treatments are injected into targeted facial expression muscles, block nerve impulses to the muscle so it does not contract. This causes the overlying skin to become smoother, with fewer lines and wrinkles. The untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion allowing normal facial expression and feeling to be unaffected. You will still be able to frown, smile and look surprised but without the creases and wrinkles. Botox Treatments will not dramatically change your facial appearance, or make you look as if you have had “work done.”
Your Botox treatments are a simple non-surgical process. Within 3-4 days you will start to notice results. These results can last for up to 3-4 months but may vary based on many factors. The effects will diminish as the Botox loses its potency and reapplication is required to maintain the desired effect. If you discontinue treatment, the lines treated gradually will look like they did before treatment.
What can I expect during my Botox treatment?
Dr. Rincon only uses FDA approved Botox Cosmetic® Brand from the company Allergan, which is the only FDA approved source in the U.S. You will be given the proper dose of Botox to adequately treat your dynamic wrinkles (related to expressions), and the Botox will always be reconstituted to the exact specifications recommended by the manufacturer so that you can be sure of optimal long-lasting results.
Are there any side effects of Botox Treatments?
As with any injection, there can be temporary swelling, redness, bruising, headache or local discomfort. There is no downtime. Many people return directly to work or normal activity following their Botox cosmetic treatments. Patients with neuromuscular disorders should consult with their physician before receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic. BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments should not be administered to women who are pregnant.
Where can Botox be used?
The most common area is between the eyebrows or the “11’s” that appear after frowning.
The forehead lines can also be treated and the Botox can be placed in a way that you may receive a nice arch or “lifting “of the eyebrows. “Crows feet”, the lines that appear around your eyes when you squint can also be treated.
Can Botox Treatments be used with Juvederm Treatments or other cosmetic procedures?
Yes! Botox can be combined with Juvederm, resulting in a more overall youthful appearance.
